How bizarre that a tool I sometimes utilise as a therapist with clients seems to have become a bit of a trend. The humble button! I note at times the eye roll if I get a jar of buttons out in the therapy room, or they look of confusion. Creativity often thrives under constraints. The 365 Button Challenge is a perfect example of how a simple daily task can spark imagination, improve skills, and build discipline. This challenge invites participants to create or interact with a "button" every day for a full year. Whether designing physical buttons, coding interactive ones, or exploring buttons in art and photography, the challenge pushes boundaries and encourages consistent creative output. Clearly I am intrigued by this challenge and rather than the creativity spoken about I am very interested in the thought process behind the daily choice of button.

What Is the 365 Button Challenge?
The 365 Button Challenge asks participants to engage with the concept of a button every day for 365 days. This can take many forms depending on your interests:
Designing buttons: Creating new button designs using graphic software or handcrafting physical buttons.
Photography: Capturing images of buttons in everyday life, focusing on textures, colors, and settings.
Coding: Developing interactive buttons for websites or apps, experimenting with different styles and functions.
Art: Incorporating buttons into mixed media projects, sculptures, or fashion.
The goal is to maintain daily creativity and explore the theme from different angles. This challenge is flexible, allowing participants to tailor it to their skills and passions.
Why Take on the 365 Button Challenge?
Many creative projects start with enthusiasm but lose momentum over time. The 365 Button Challenge combats this by encouraging daily practice. Here are some benefits:
Builds discipline: Committing to a daily task strengthens habits and time management.
Enhances skills: Repetition and experimentation improve design, photography, or coding abilities.
Encourages exploration: The simple theme of "button" opens doors to diverse interpretations.
Creates a portfolio: By the end of the year, participants have a rich collection of work.
Fosters community: Many join online groups to share progress, exchange feedback, and stay motivated.
Simply fascinating - a creative tool that has been utilised for years in therapy seems to be popular. The humble button - I just love them!
